ESN Oulu is the proud host of Northern European Platform (NEP) which will take place 13.-16.10.2016 in Oulu, Finland. NEP brings together over 100 young volunteers from 8 countries: Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Denmark and Latvia. For four days this bunch will get to know each other and educate themselves on association practices, leadership, teamwork and a range of other skills.

After the official part, a dinner is served and then the evening continues at the monthly ESN Oulu student party.
By train – you will arrive very very close to the hotel, right in the city center. Check www.vr.fi
By plane – we have an airport that is flown to several times a day from Helsinki. From there, a bus leaves every 15 minutes to the city center, where the venue is. Take either bus number 8 or bus number 9 until Raksila P. From there, it’s 600 m walk to the hotel.
We will not let you wander around the city by yourself, so please make sure you help us organizing a pick-up service by filling in this form.Pick up
We will stay all together in 3-people rooms in a hotel in the heart of Oulu’s city center! Conveniently, plenary-venues, nightlife and train-/bus-station are reachable by walk within a couple of minutes. Not that you will have much time, but if you find some, this hotel provides you with its own sauna and pool - so bring your swimming clothes!
And these are the minds behind the fun:

And a whole array of active members to support us:
“Hej! My name is Jan and I am excited to meet you all soon in Oulu! What can I tell you about myself? In ESN, I have been involved in various activities of local, national and international level since 2010. Currently, I am a member of the International Committee for Education and a member of the Network Care Team as well as a very proud member of the Eduk8 community. In my non-ESN life (Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?) I’m studying Master’s in Business Management and Economics and I am very passionate about photography, travelling and pretty much anything adventurous. I am the Chairing Facilitator for the upcoming NEP, so I'll take care of all the technical stuff (if you present anything at the event, we'll become good friends ;)). You may have heard before that I am a rocket scientist but I’ll make sure that this year's edition of NEP won’t be a rocket science for you!”
Jan Lukačevič - Chairing Facilitator
Stephan van de Ven - Vice Chair
“My name is Stephan van de Ven and I will be your Vice-chair for NEP Oulu. I am from the section ESN Inholland Diemen (next to Amsterdam), the Netherlands. I have been around the Network for little over a year and seen a lot of different places since then. I am a proud member of NEC, part of the Eduk8ers pool and National Training Coordinator for ESN the Netherlands. This will be the first time to come to Funland and am ready to make it a memorable one.”
"Hello everyone! My name is Panayiotis Papageorgiou (AKA Panos PapaG) from Greece and currently living in UK. Member of ESN since September 2010 and I have been involved in local, National and International level, former Vice-Chair of Finance Committee of ESN International for the last two years and former National board member in ESN Greece and ESN UK in the position of National Treasurer. I’m currently member of Network Care team and in my non- ESN Life I’m involved with Shipping and Maritime studies and industries. I’m happy that it will be my first time attending NEP and also visiting first time Finland!”

The University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest in Finland. Around 9,000 students come to study here since 1996. Thanks to their generosity, we are able to use their wonderful venues the entire weekend for day and night program just a stone’s throw away from the hotel.
Thanks to this great facility services company we can feed you salty and sweet traditional Finnish snacks throughout every coffee break and beyond! Sodexo’s as ESN’s heart is build on good service and mutual beneficial partnerships.
One of our main sponsors is the city itself, proud to have been chosen as the host of such an international conference.
It’s all about the food in this conference – in cold northern winters you need a lot of thick skin. The fastest growing restaurant group in Finland generously supports NEP and we are grateful for that.
